Here is my most recent updated snowfall map as we progress toward this event. I have upped my totals for many around Buncombe County as I now believe that even portions of Enka and Bent Creek will see accumulating snowfall (1”-3”). This could extend all the way down to theAsheville Airport, but I am just not certain at this moment. Locations above 3500’ all around WNC could see over 5” of snowfall from this strong Upper Level Low so please use caution when traveling around the area tomorrow. Winds will gust over 40mph in some valley locations even around Asheville through tomorrow evening, and power outages could be possible. All around it looks to be a nasty day around WNC tomorrow.
Latest Wind Maps
Below is the latest Nam3km projected wind gusts late tomorrow afternoon. You can see that the winds will be gusting over 40mph in many locations. That will enhance the flow and could allow flurries/snow showers to continue around the area through Monday evening. Please be careful traveling around the area!
